I had every intention of being a responsible adult this weekend. Truly. I even had the flour canister sitting out on the counter like some kind of motivational statue. The plan was simple: bake bread, feel accomplished, maybe even brag about it later.
But then my husband and I made the terrible mistake of turning on the Xbox “just for a minute.”
Cut to several hours later, and we’re deep into It Takes Two, fully committed to surviving as a tiny, bickering husband‑and‑wife duo trying to make it home. If you’ve never played it, imagine a relationship‑themed obstacle course where teamwork isn’t optional—you literally cannot progress unless you communicate, strategize, and occasionally yell things like, “WHY WOULD YOU JUMP THERE.”
It’s chaotic, hilarious, and honestly one of the most fun co‑op games we’ve played in ages. Every puzzle forces you to work together, which is adorable in theory and mildly dangerous in practice when you’re married and competitive.
So no, I didn’t make bread. Not even close. But I did spend the weekend laughing with my husband, solving puzzles, and remembering that sometimes the best kind of “productivity” is just choosing joy.
Bread can wait. Xbox adventures apparently cannot.
