Tonight’s Dinner: Grilled Steak with Homemade Alfredo

Sometimes the best meals are the ones made together. Tonight, my husband took charge of the grill, seasoning the steaks with just salt and pepper and letting the fire do its magic. The smoky char and juicy tenderness were all thanks to his handiwork — and I have to admit, he nailed it.
Meanwhile, I was in the kitchen making homemade Alfredo sauce. Butter, cream, and freshly grated Parmesan came together into a silky sauce that clung perfectly to shell pasta. The shells scooped up every bit of that creamy goodness, making each bite rich and comforting.
When we finally sat down, it wasn’t just about the food. It was about teamwork — his grill skills paired with my sauce — and the laughter around the table as the kids debated who got the biggest piece of steak. Even the cats hovered nearby, convinced they were part of the dinner crew.
Meals like this remind me that cooking isn’t just about feeding people. It’s about creating moments together, where everyone contributes in their own way.
