Planning meals for the week shouldn’t feel like solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded. But between juggling work, family, and the ever-changing moods of my family's taste buds, it’s become a weekly ritual of indecision and mild panic.
The Problem Isn’t Just What to Cook…
It’s everything else:
• What do they feel like eating?
• What’s actually in the fridge?
• What won’t go bad by Friday?
• What can I make without dirtying every dish I own?
And just when I think I’ve got it figured out, someone announces they’re “not really into chicken this week,” or I realize I forgot to buy the one ingredient that holds the entire meal together
By the time I’ve scrolled through recipes, checked the pantry, and tried to match meals to everyone’s preferences, I’m mentally drained. It’s not just about food—it’s about managing expectations, time, and the ever-elusive dream of variety.
